Saturday Memories

The other weekend we went out driving for a bit around town and into the out-skirts of Durham with the kids.
This was something that we've been wanting to do for long time now but just can never find the time to do it.
After driving for a while we felt like we had tortured the kids long enough in their car seats and decided to head to a park.

We could not have planned out a better day if we had tried!

We all really enjoyed the play set when we first got there.
Bryleigh is officially big enough to "I do it" all by herself!
This fact makes Daddy proud and Mommy a nervous wreck.
Brenden was of course climbing, sliding, and jumping around like a pro!

After our fun on the play set we headed out onto the trail for a little walk.
The kids LOVED this part which made us realize we should be doing it more often.

Finally, we headed out into the big open field and just let the kids run and play. Sometimes just a big grassy area is more than enough to entertain them for hours! We loved watching them play and interact with each other. Especially since Bryleigh is a "mini-me" imitating EVERYTHING that her big "Bubba" does! Love it!

The kids had an absolute blast and we couldn't get enough of this quality time with both of them!

August 23rd

Today is a great day!
Today is the 23rd!
You may not know it but 23 is one of my favorite numbers!
I absolutely love the 23rd of every month!
On April 23rd in 1999 I started dating an amazing guy!
On November 23rd of 2002 he surprised me like you can't imagine and proposed to me.
Finally, on August 23rd, 2003 he said "I do" in front of our family and friends!

I am one blessed wife!

So, today you will see me grinning from sun up to sun down!
I don't grin because my life is perfect.
I don't smile because my marriage has been easy.
I am glowing because on this day my life changed and I am forever grateful for what God taught us on our day of marriage 7 years ago and continues to teach us each day since!
I am happy because I am his and His!

So, on this day, I present you "our song" along with some pics from our marriage!
Enjoy!

P.S. Bobby, LYU!!!!

Don't go changing, to try and please me,
You never let me down before,
Don't imagine, you're too familiar,

And I don't see you anymore.

I would not leave you, in times of trouble,
We never could have come this far,

I took the good times, I'll take the bad times,

I'll take you just the way you are.

Don't go trying, some new fashion,
Don't change the color of your hair,

You always have my, unspoken passion,

Although I might not seem to care.

I don't want clever, conversation,
I never want to work that hard,

I just want someone, that I can talk to,

I want you just the way you are.

I need to know that you will always be

The same old someone that I knew,

What will it take till you believe in me,

The way that I believe in you?

I said I love you, and that's forever,
And this I promise from the heart,
I couldn't love you, any better,

I love you just the way you are.

I don't want clever, conversation,
I never want to work that hard,

I just want someone, that I can talk to,
I want you just the way you are.

We are pleased that we had a successful birthday party to celebrate Bryleigh turning 2!!!
We invited some of Bryleigh's friends and our family out to enjoy this "sweet" celebration last Saturday and even though there were rain showers, it was still a blast!

Here are some pictures of the decorations:
(Top Left: Yummy cupcakes that Brenden made. Top Middle: Fun wreath that Mommy made. Top Right: Cute watermelon cookies Papa made. Bottom Left: Goody bags that KK helped make. Bottom Middle: Watermelon cake that Daddy made. Bottom right: Happy Birthday sign that Hopie made)

(We had pizza, grapes, and chips for lunch...more was served, but these were Bry's favorites!)(The kids enjoyed fun outside in between the rain showers. Nana's cars were a favorite for sure!)

(Bryleigh LOVED her cake! She couldn't wait to blow out the candles but didn't want to sit still long enough to eat a piece.)

(We brought our pool from home and it was a huge hit...by huge, I mean big splashes, not lots of room! Ha!)

(This is the face of 1 happy birthday girl! She is very blessed with good friends and family and you can tell she knows how lucky she is every time you looked at her grinning from ear to ear! We are so thankful for everyone that came to make her day special. Most of all, we are thankful that God has blessed us with such an amazing gift...such an amazing Bryleigh!) :)
