Bryleigh's Year in Review

As promised, here is a glimpse of Bryleigh from the past year.
As you can see, she has not only been busy with her fun adventures each month, she has also grown right in front of our eyes. A year ago she still looked like such a baby. She wasn't even walking, has such short/wispy hair, and the cutest snaggle-tooth grin. Now, she's still our baby, but she's running everywhere, has enjoyed her first haircut, and lights up the room every time she smiles.
We are so blessed and couldn't love her company any more!!!

Happy 2nd Birthday Bryleigh!!!

Yes, we can barely believe it, but it's true.
Our little girl just turned 2!

We are so proud of her and all that she has learned in her little life.
We love to hear her sing, watch her dance, and hold her hand!
She is an amazing girl and we're very blessed!

We'll share more about her year and birthday over the week ahead.

More Bitterness!

Now...
I SERIOUSLY miss this face!

Bobby left yesterday for a 10 day trip to visit some friends and enjoy some sights in Dubai.
Yes, 10 days!
Today is day 1 and I miss him already!
Please pray for him during his traveling and for those traveling with him.
Pray that they will have a safe, healthy, and enjoyable visit.
Also pray that these 10 days will not pass too slowly! ;)

Can't wait until July 25th!
That is going to be a great day for more than one reason....

Bittersweet

So...today...these 2 faces kissed us good-bye and headed East to spend some quality time with MawMaw and PawPaw!
It is such a blessing that they have grandparents that play such an active role in their lives.
It is also a blessing that we get some alone time to date and catch up with each other.
It is also a tremendous blessing that I can start the school year off without feeling pulled in a million different directions with tons of guilt while I'm at school.
However, this makes us a little sad too!
Our house is extremely quiet and our van is extremely empty.
It definitely is hard to hug your kids and see them go away from you, but we are so glad that they are getting to have this amazing time with our family!

"Let's Go Bulls!"

As all of you should know at this point, one of our absolute favorite things to do during the summer is to head out to a Durham Bull's baseball game. We have been very busy this summer and haven't attended as many as we would like, but we've still managed to squeeze in a few here and there. Last week was one of those times. We loaded up the whole family and headed out to the DBAP. We enjoyed $1 concessions, lots of laughter, tons of sunshine (and heat), and F-U-N from start to finish!! The night was a huge success and here are some of our pictures to prove it and give you a glimpse at our evening...(Above: Brenden's pose during the National Anthem.)

Finally, my favorite part...Brenden's version of the 7th inning stretch...

Happy 4th of July!

Our family had a very fun and blessed 4th this year! We spent our morning at church, our afternoon at the pool, our evening with family, and the entire day with each other! It was one of my favorite for sure!
On the 4th our family is very thankful for all of the men and women that have served or are currently serving to give us the freedoms that we too often take for granted in our country. However, we have to be honest and say that the 4th is also a day when we celebrate our ultimate freedom that was paid at a great cost!

"For freedom Christ has set us free, stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1
This sacrifice for our freedom is one that we try to remember every day of the year and that we feel unbelievably blessed and humbled as we think about it daily!

We hope that all of you had a great 4th as well and that you also daily celebrate your freedom!

Love, The Farrs

We Are The Champions!

"We are the Champions!"

That's right, The Expos are NDLL's Rookie ball champions and Brenden is obviously
THRILLED!!

Unfortunately, Brenden was out of town during the championship games so he didn't really get to witness all of the winning excitement first hand. However, this is a blessing too because he didn't get to witness the drama or debating as well. (Got to love little league ball!)

We got together with his teammates the other night so their coach could pass out trophies, recognize the players, and celebrate the season!

It was a great night but more than that...we had an amazing baseball season!
When we started this season out we said that what we wanted most for Brenden was for him to have a blast. He has always loved baseball since he was teenie tiny so we were fearful of seeing this passion dissolve. We had also said that if Brenden did a great job or improved his skills along the way, then that was a bonus for us. Little did we know that Brenden would absolutely LOVE this game after his first season. On top of that, we couldn't believe that he was surrounded with teammates, coaches, and families that were amazing! Even more than all of that, he rocked some baseball skills occasionally! The season was sprinkled with moments of absolute delight when he would come of the field super excited about his success at batting and fielding.

To say that we were pleased or proud is putting it lightly compared to our true feelings!
After 1 season, we're amazingly appreciative and thankful!
We can't wait for spring to come around again so we can play some more!!!

(Until then...enjoy these pictures from the celebration and stay tuned to info about soccer soon.)
