Bryleigh - 8 months old

It's very hard to believe, but Bryleigh is now 8 months old!

We have loved every day that God has given us with her and we're so blessed to be the parents of such a great baby. She is always very happy and loves to spend time socializing with the people that she loves the most, her family. She is sitting up like a champ and has really mastered this skill during this past month. She is even doing a better job of lowering herself from the sitting position to laying down, which is great and much easier on her noggin. :)

Also this month, she has two teeth so far that popped in at almost the exact same time.

We noticed immediately when they were about to pop through, but it took almost 2 weeks before they were up and more visible. If you look closely, you can see them in the above picture.

She is constantly chewing on something, loves to eat ANY kind of baby food, and begs us for our food at dinner time each night. We would comment on her sleeping, but we definitely don't want to do anything to mess it up! ;) She is still entertained by Brenden the most and babbles "dada" at all times of the day but especially when she sees Daddy walking by her. She also has mastered rolling around the room to get to a desired toy and show signs of being very close to crawling independently. Her sunburn cheeks were another first for us this month and we're hoping to have learned enough from that mistake to do a better job next time.

When we look at her we're always amazed with just how much she has grown and changed right before our eyes. We're doing our best to soak in every moment with her but we know that we must be blinking because these months have gone by entirely too fast. :(

"I look like a Zebra!"

We took Brenden to get his haircut this afternoon after his nap. We wanted him to get it cut a little shorter for soccer season so it would be a little more "maintenance free" for him and for us. When he got out from his haircut we all were complimenting him on how old he looks. "You look like your daddy" Nana said. "NO I don't Nana." he said. "I look like a Zebra!" We're not quite sure why he said that but whatever...as long as he likes that style, it's fine with us. :)

Oh yeah, and do you notice anything else new on him in this picture besides the hair cut?! ;)

Brenden had his first soccer game on Saturday morning. This season has had a little bit of a bumpy start because of the weather. His team had only had one official opportunity to practice before this game so we had no clue what to expect. Well, soccer has definitely taught us to expect the unexpected and the pictures seemed to do a good job of capturing all of the festivities so view and enjoy! :)

The game started out with lots of smiles, a few kicks, and a proud coach/Daddy.

Bryleigh was very entertained by all of the festivities as well.
There was some running after the ball but then....
...someone "took" Brenden's ball and that's when the tears started.
After time-out, bribery, and begging Brenden went back out for a little bit longer and both Mommy and Daddy were very proud of his efforts!
Afterwards, Brenden couldn't wait to have his yummy snack with his best bud. Snack and Avery may be Brenden's 2 favorite things about soccer.
We're eager to see how the rest of the season compares to this first game. We're hoping for far less tears and time-out and way more kicking, running, and yummy snacks with Avery! ;)

Fun Times at Nana and Papa's

Nana and Papa decided to take some pictures of the kids earlier today. Sure, Brenden looks a little goofy, but honestly this was the best one.
Don't believe us? Check out some of the outtakes...

Ha! There is never a dull moment with a house full of kids! :)

Celebrating St. Patty's Day!

Back in the day we used to celebrate St. Patty's Day a little bit different than we celebrate it now. However, this is the best way to celebrate in our opinion! These are the priceless moments that we get to enjoy as parents, aunts, uncles...family. :)

T-Shirt Tuesday

Happy St. Patty's Day! ;)

T-shirt Tuesday (a day late)

Sorry for the late post, but we were out of town over the weekend and feel like we've been playing "catch-up" ever since. Here are some of our favorite t-shirts, we won't say anything else about them because we think the shirts really speak for themselves! ;)

Soccer Star!

Okay, so Brenden may not be a "soccer star" yet, but who knows what the future will hold?! It's definitely early in the season, but we're encouraged since the first practice appeared to go fairly well.

We were very excited that Brenden was old enough to sign up for soccer this spring so we could encourage his athletic abilities and social skills. (Bobby has been waiting for this day ever since he heard that we were having a boy.) This year, Brenden is playing for Hillandaile's soccer league and his team is made up of 3 and 4 year olds. Bryleigh and Mommy are his cheerleaders, and Daddy is his soccer coach. So far, it's a family event.

We didn't really know what to expect from this first practice, especially since soccer "practices" can be a little rough at home sometimes. We have found that it can be hard for a 3 year old to focus, not be distracted by other things (like grass and cones) and to not use your hands...but that's okay he is learning! ;)

During the practice Brenden did not cry (very exciting) and participated for almost the whole time. He did worry about his ball and struggled with kicking the others. He also got "very tired" before practice ended and begged to stop. "I so so tired Mommy!" He was definitely super excited to be playing with his best bud Avery and seemed to like meeting new friends as well.

We're hoping that the rest of the season goes as smoothly as this practice and we promise to keep putting up pictures from the games and practices throughout the season. For now, though, we'll leave one last one of possibly his favorite moment of the night...SNACK time! ;)

Snow Day...again!

March has just started and already we're a little unsure of what we should expect out of this month. This morning we woke up to yet, another snow day. Brenden was super excited when he got out of bed and looked out into the yard. Bryleigh, on the other hand, seemed to enjoy the toys inside the house more than her playtime in the snow. Below are just a few of the pictures that we took during our adventures this morning. :)
Bryleigh watching Brenden as he plays outside.

Brenden (looking a little evil) throwing a snowball at Mommy.

Brenden and Bryleigh hanging out in the snow.

Bryleigh watching Mommy to make sure she doesn't have to stay out in the snow too long.
Brenden LOVES to catch the snow on his tongue...or TRY to catch it.
