Brenden had his first soccer game on Saturday morning. This season has had a little bit of a bumpy start because of the weather. His team had only had one official opportunity to practice before this game so we had no clue what to expect. Well, soccer has definitely taught us to expect the unexpected and the pictures seemed to do a good job of capturing all of the festivities so view and enjoy! :)

The game started out with lots of smiles, a few kicks, and a proud coach/Daddy.

Bryleigh was very entertained by all of the festivities as well.
There was some running after the ball but then....
...someone "took" Brenden's ball and that's when the tears started.
After time-out, bribery, and begging Brenden went back out for a little bit longer and both Mommy and Daddy were very proud of his efforts!
Afterwards, Brenden couldn't wait to have his yummy snack with his best bud. Snack and Avery may be Brenden's 2 favorite things about soccer.
We're eager to see how the rest of the season compares to this first game. We're hoping for far less tears and time-out and way more kicking, running, and yummy snacks with Avery! ;)

I'm so proud of Brenden! Sure, there were tears- but Avery cried at some point at almost every game last season (and on Saturday too!) It is hard for them to not be intimidated when kids are coming after them to take their ball! Who cares how long they stay out there... as long as they are having fun! Brenden and Snack are Avery's favorite parts about soccer too! Oh- the joy of being 3!
